How Can i volunteer?
Volunteers are fundamental to the success of Ballyntyne Learning Farm! We happily welcome volunteers to help teach a learning session, assist with projects alongside the kiddos or to help with the maintenance and beautification of the farm. Please find a brief explanation of the potential roles below!
How Do I Sign Up to Volunteer?
To begin, a HUGE thank you for all those interested in working alongside the staff of Ballyntyne Learning Farm to help create positive memories for our day campers! Your help and knowledge are critical to BLF's success!

Please fill out the "Volunteer Registration Form" (below). Kindly indicate which category of activities and projects you'd like to help with. For example, beautification/clean-up, assist day campers in a learning session, or, teach a learning session.

We ask that all volunteers kindly fill out a "Liability Waiver and Personal Release Form" (below) and bring it with you the day of your volunteer shift.

3. Volunteers 18 and Under:

Prior to being able to volunteer, we require a teacher recommendation be filled out by a teacher from your school. Please scan and email this form back to us prior to your volunteer day. We're excited to meet you and work together!

For volunteers who will be assisting with a learning session, the Director of BLF will be in contact with you shortly to discuss lesson plan materials.

*Day-Of: Day campers arrive for their learning session at 8:45 so we ask that you please arrive at 8:15 am for a brief orientation where your volunteer duties will be explained and last minute questions answered.
4. Volunteers 18 and Older:

Helping with Beautification/Clean Up: If you have an interest in an afternoon or weekend beautification or cleanup project, a criminal background check is not required. Now that you've completed the above Volunteer Interest Form, you're all done! Please check your email for a confirmation note from the Director

Helping with or Teaching a Learning Session: If you have an interest in assisting our day-campers with hands-on projects, experiments, playing in the garden, feeding our farm animals, and scavenger hunts during our nature walks, we do require that you complete a brief criminal background check. The same background check is required of volunteers who are interested in teaching a learning session. We are committed to the safety and comfort of our day-campers and want to ensure that their learning environment remains safe. Please find the link below where you will be redirected to a site to complete your check. Please note that there is a cost of $20 for your check. We thank you for your willingness to help the staff and the day-campers! Chaperones will be accompanying our day-campers but extra helping hands are always appreciated!

For volunteers who will be assisting with teaching (giving a brief educational demonstration to the day-campers), the Director of BLF will be in contact with you shortly to discuss lesson plan materials and any resources that you would like to use to teach the day-campers.
